Theme for the Study

“The Miracles of Jesus”

Are we not longing for a miracle? Seriously, during the days of pandemic, many are praying for a miracle, and we all need a little bit of it. What does the Bible tells us about miracles? What does Jesus’ miracles teach us of today, and how can we discover them in our lives? For the conversations in August through October, we will look into ten miracles performed by Jesus Christ and his disciples, and discuss our own responses to those questions. Pastor will refer to Doug Newton’s book Fresh Eyes on Jesus’ Miracles to lead the group’s conversation, but participants are not required to have or read the book in advance. Below is the schedule for our discussion.

• August 12 – Turning Water into Wine (John 2:1-11)

• August 19 – Healing the Royal Official’s Son (John 4:46-54)

  (No meeting on August 26)

• September 2 – Peter Healing the Lame Man (Acts 3:1-11)

• September 9 – Feeding the Five Thousand (Mark 6:30-44)

• September 16 – Exorcising the Demoniac (Mark 5:1-20)

• September 23 – Calming the Storm (Mark 4:35-5:21)

• September 30 – Healing the Demon-Possessed Boy (Matthew 17:14-20, Mark 9:14-29, Luke 9:37-43)

• October 7 – Healing the Woman (Mark 5:21-34)

• October 14 – Catching a Boatload of Fish (Luke 5:1-11)

• October 21 – Raising Lazarus from the Dead (John 11:1-44)

*In case of a necessary schedule change, it will be communicated in a timely manner.
